The other night my little fellow wanted to play in his "pool water" (just "pool" to the rest of us...). It was around dusk outside, and I knew better than to send him out there without bug spray. I looked for it, but I never found it. We had friends over, they were all outside and Jameson was getting antsy. So I just let him go. I thought he would just be outside for a little bit (and he was). When he came in, I could tell he had a few bites, but they seemed tiny. Well, yesterday morning when he woke up, I was floored. I literally felt sick when I saw my sweet baby. I can't believe I am going to post these pictures - please don't call CPS on me. I will *never* let him play outside at dusk again without loading him down with bug spray.

My nieces (1 yo twins) do this same thing! They were recently diagnosed with severe (not anaphylactic) mosquito bite allergy. We all said the same thing you did! We were floored! A steady dose of Benadryl during the summer months has helped them tremendously.
So Sorry! I assure you you are not alone in your "Mommy of the Year" award! Mosquitos love little boys! They must be extra tender and sweet. My littlest guy gets big red spotches too. It's amazing and so very sad! :-(
My younger sister was highly allergic to mosquito bites as a little girl..she's gotten better but now needs an epi pen for bee/wasp stings. So watch out for that. And yes, benadryl is a wonder drug.
Paul does the same thing! I don't think they're as red as Jameson's but they're definitely as big! He also gets an allergic reaction to some sort of bite he's gotten on his feet while wearing sandals in Charleston a couple of times. It causes swelling of his whole foot and even mild hives once. I think it's fire ants, but haven't had it happen when I was sure and I'm not brave enough to "test" it! So watch out for the fire ants on Jameson too!!! So sorry he got eaten up! :(
Oh, an don't worry about the Mommy of the Year award - I've got it all sewn up (haha :) Seriously I did read a quote the other day though that I loved, "Motherhood is not a competitive sport!" Good for me b/c some days I'd come in dead last!!
