100th POST GIVEAWAY!

Well, well, well. Who knew when I started this blog back in 2007 that one day I would hit 100 posts. Not to mention 100 posts that someone besides the obligatory family members would read.

So in honor of that, my 100 posts of awesomeness, I am having a little giveaway. Now don't get your hopes up. It isn't for a Wii, or a Canon Rebel. It isn't for this great prize that you can't live without. It IS however stinkin' cute. Not only is it stinkin' cute, but all the money spent on said prize goes to this awesome family at MyCharmingKids.

Ready to hear what the prize is? I know all you mommy's of boys will be stoked! It is this adorable little crochet hair clippy!

The clippy many not be exactly like the one shown, because honestly, I can't remember what I ordered. LOL. It will be very close though. I ordered the clip from this little etsy shop, BriarClaire. I love all of her stuff. Check out all the cute clippies she sells.

Anyway, so if you would like to enter my sad little modest little contest, please leave a comment and a way to get in touch with you, on this post. The contest ends sometime Sunday night.

One more thing - thank you all so much for the encouragement. It is nice to know someone cares about my random happenings. Even if it is only a handful of you. So, thanks!

TWO POSTS IN ONE DAY!

I am on a roll! Seriously, this post is just a little house keeping. I am moving my blog to my own domain. You can still access it the same way you have been, but the actual web address will be www.hemovesmountains.com. It will take a couple of days to get it all transfered over.

I just started thinking about internet safety. When I set this blog up, I really didn't think anyone would be reading it. So, I didn't have safety in mind. Now that I do have a little bit of traffic, I thought I should take better precautions.

One more thing - I am ONE post away from the big 100! WOO HOO! In honor of that, I have a little something cooked up. I am not sure when I will post that 100th post so stay tuned!

Thanks guys!

TOP TEN TUESDAY

A friend of mine, Janna, does this cool Top Ten Tuesday thing that I thought looked like fun. She got her idea from OhAmanda. Apparently its a whole big thing that they do every week. So, being the bandwagon jump-er on-er that I am, I thought I would do Top Ten Tuesday too! So here goes:

TOP TEN THINGS I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO OVER THE NEXT FEW MONTHS

1. On friday I am starting a new bible study at church. We are doing Daniel, by Beth Moore this time. We finished Esther not long ago. I am really excited. The bible study for me has been life changing. I am really looking forward to the fellowship too. Most of the ladies involved share the same parenting philosophy that I do, and we bring our kids to the study with us. It is fun for the moms and all the kids!

2. In less than three weeks, I am heading to Charleston to attend the Women of Joy Conference. The guest speaker Friday night will be - wait for it - Kirk Cameron. Oh. My. Lord. I am so very excited to finally get to see him in person. I am not kidding, I have been in love with Michael Seaver since I was like 11 years old. Casting Crowns will be there too. While I have not had a crush on Casting Crowns for 15 years a lot of years, like I have have Kirk Cameron, I am still *very* excited to see them perform. Plus did I mention it is in CHARLESTON? You know how much I love going home.

3. The weekend after I get home from Charleston, I am going to Winston Salem for the NC Homeschoolers Conference. We have homeschooled almost 2 years, but I have never gotten to go. I am looking forward to learning all I can to make our school more efficient. I am also looking forward to seeing some old friends there too! I will be going to the conference alone, and I will be spending one night. I have a love/hate relationship with the idea of going alone away from my babies. I may just take one of them with me. Jackson would hate it, Jameson is too little, so that leave Julianna. She would love it I think. So we shall see. Lots of kids will be there, so I am not worried about her.

4. Warm weather. Need I say more?

5. Opening our pool for the season. I don't know why I am looking forward to this, considering last year I got in the pool like once. I am optimistic that the water temperature will actually be higher than the 83 degrees it was last year. 83 degrees just doesn't cut it for me. When you feel like your heart will stop when you get in, I'm not feelin' it. So this year, I am hoping we can reach 87 degrees. We shall see.

6. Losing some weight. Although, I am not motivated to make that happen just yet. I am sure once I put on my bathing suit that will be all the motivation I need.

7. I think we are going to take a day trip to Wet N Wild for the kids.

8. Kicking back on my couch, relaxing in the a/c!

9. Fresh, seasonal fruits and veggies!

10. I am not certain yet, but I think we will plan an end of summer trip to DISNEY!

So that is it. Sorry it was not very exciting, but maybe I will get better at it the more I do it. I think if it was TOP FIVE TUESDAY, I wouldn't have a problem.

REALLY?

So I happened upon a couple of interesting products recently, and it's gotten me thinking. The first one is Bumpits. I just can't wrap my mind around this. Could someone please shed some light on why a "bump" on your head is attractive? Maybe I am just old? I don't know, but to have the "bump" and then to market something that will help create the "bump" is just not something I understand. I have seen plenty of people with said bump, some larger than others. Maybe I am just too old to understand. Maybe it is like "the wall" I had in 8th grade. I would tease my bangs so high and then spray them with AquaNet to create a literal wall. It had to be 5 inches high. I am not even sure how I got in the car. So maybe it is like that?

The next product that *blows* my mind is Go-Girl. I don't even know what to say about this. Look at the lady on the main page of the website - she is *so* excited. Can you imagine being so happy about being able to stand up to pee? I guess the little things in life are what keep us going. I can tell you, however, I have never entertained the idea of wishing I could stand up to pee. It says it neatly fits in your purse. Really? Before or after you pee in it? Oh lord. Then it says, "You wont be like a man. You'll just pee like one." Oh. My. Precious. Lord. What have we come to? There is a "demo" video on the website. I am not going to lie, I am intrigued. It would be like watching a train wreck. You can't imagine watching, yet you can't look away. This device is also called a "FUD". Female Urinating Device. Sigh.

Maybe I am just close minded (I didn't think I was?), but I just can't make myself pee in a FUD while having a bump on my head. Just. Can't. Do. It.

Almost home! I've been in Charleston for a couple of days with virtually NO internet. I was dying! It will be good to get home and out of my van.

BACK TO WORK

Today is a little bit of a let down. Back to reality, I suppose. The last few days have been awesome. Of course, after an awesome weekend, Monday always rolls around ready to suck the joy out of life again. LOL!

Brad has been so busy the last few months, time "off" for him has consisted of a few hours around 10pm. This past week though, he got off early on Thursday and was home for the whole weekend. We stayed home and hung out. It really was the best weekend that I recall in a long time.

We got a bunch of stuff done, inside and outside the house. We worked and played in the yard most of the day Friday and Saturday. We planted azaleas, petunias and jasmine. We put out some mulch and cut the grass. We cleaned inside our house really well too. Yesterday, all of our work was done and we just hung out. Actually, we played Trivial Pursuit on the wii. It was so much fun! Honestly, I was pretty excited because Brad only beat me by a little. We were neck and neck the whole time. I honestly thought he would kill me in that game, but he didn't. So that was fun!

All in all, it was great. Then today rolls around. Somehow in the matter of 2 hours that my family has been awake, my house is trashed again. Kids are fighting. Laundry is piled up. Dog is barking at air. It is chaos all over again. What happened?

The reason I am posting this useless post is really just to kill time. Avoid the chaos happening around me.

I will have to face it all soon, though. We have a busy week ahead. Tonight, providing it doesn't rain, Jackson has his first teeball game. Tomorrow, we are going with the Senior Adults to Grandfather Mountain, in Linville, NC. On Wednesday morning we are going to a minor league baseball game with our homeschooling group. Then on Thursday, we leave for Charleston for the weekend. So today is my only day to tackle all of my work. Plus have school, teeball, etc... I suppose I need to get off the couch, eh?

Yeah, I need to get up now for sure. I just heard Julianna yell from the den, "Stop grabbing my butt." Lovely.

HE IS GOING TO BE THE DEATH OF ME.

What is it with my child and lipstick? God, please don't let my little boy's obsession with lipstick have some hidden meaning. I guess I wont be surprised if he comes to me when he grows up, tells me he swings the other way and he has known since he was two. Anyway, he knew exactly where to go found my lipstick again. This time, however, he graduated from regular lipstick to Revlon *Color Stay*. Color. Stay. You know, I didn't realize this at the time, but I guess this post can also be a product rave. If you want lipstick that really stays on all day, buy Revlon Color Stay. It really does STAY. Well here is Bozo the Clown Jameson, all made up:

The question is this - does he have that foul look on his face because he got caught? Or because he realized, too late, that Revlon #545 isn't his color after all?

And for kicks, this is how my sweet little girls walks around the house all the time:

And just in case you want the whole package (yes, complete with turtle neck and hot pink hair bow):

I know these days are precious. I know they will be gone in the blink of an eye. I am just trying to soak it all in. They are so sweet!

MY DESTRUCTIVE LITTLE CHILD

It is a darn good thing this child is so cute because if he wasn't, he would have gotten a lot of beatings today. This morning, I found him in the den with my *brand new* lipstick, which he had taken out of the box, and twisted it all the way up, with the lid still on. He, then, proceeded to take the lid off and play with the lipstick itself.

I would guess an hour later, the great cupcake debacle '09 took place. Let me back up a little. I was suppose to make cupcakes for our church Easter egg hunt today. Well, at 8:30 last night, I remembered this. I get the batter made, and I realized that I didn't have the paper cups. I had to head to Walmart in the monsoon we were having at 9 PM (!!) to get the cups. Of course, I couldn't find them anywhere. I walked the entire store. Finally, a very nice lady directed me to where they were located (in the paper towels and toilet paper. Stupiddddd, I know). I buy two packages, head back home in the monsoon, and get the cupcakes made. This morning, I put sprinkles on them and packed them up for church. Well, I had a little bit of time, so I decided to change the sheets on my bed. During that time, I hear Brad yell from the den. I go running downstairs, and I encounter this:

That's right. My sweet, angelic looking little boy, got them off the counter, tossed them around a bit, carried them to the den, and then threw them on the floor. When I saw what he had done, I couldn't say a word. I literally turned around, and went back to my room. I felt so overwhelmed and like I was going to flip out at any second. I didn't lose my cool though. I just took a few deep breaths and moved on.

My other two little ones never did this sort of thing. They were both angels. I should have known that at some point, if I kept having kids one of them would turn out like my dad. That time is now. I have a feeling I will end up having to beat the "Michael" out of him eventually! HAHA! His cuteness sure got him off scot free today though.

YIPPEE JESUS!

I have a kitchen full of groceries to put away and children waiting to be homeschooled, but all of that can wait! I have to share two HUGE things that happened this week.

First of all, most of you know that my mom had a colonoscopy done on Friday that revealed a large, malignant polyp. The doctor that did the test was 100% sure that the polyp was cancerous. He is a very good doctor. If he said he saw cancer, you can believe there was cancer there. So he biopsied it. The report came back on Tuesday. We were preparing for surgery and possibly chemo (per the doctor). Well, what the doctor didn't realize is we serve a HEALING Jesus who is bigger than cancer. The report revealed a BENIGN polyp. All I could do when I heard, was laugh. YIPPEE JESUS!

Secondly, a little girl of a good friend of ours has been having headaches. The little girl, Olivia, is one of Julianna's most favorite friends (she is one of mine too! I love that little girl!) I blogged about her in February. They took her for an MRI (or CT scan, I am not exactly sure) on Monday and they found a cyst. So they wanted to repeat the test today with contrast (to light every thing up in her brain). I just called her mom to find out how it went. She said they saw NOTHING. It is gone! YIPPEE JESUS!

I am just so humbled and grateful. To see Jesus move in such a way, I am at a loss for words. Praise Him for his mercy.

See? I told you He moves mountains! All you have to do it ask! A few people I have told these things too has said they were so relieved that the doctors were wrong. That is the thing - they weren't wrong. My loved ones were HEALED! YIPPEE JESUS!

ANNOYING!

The money I made from selling my bag finally cleared my checking account. Well, I mistakenly told Brad this. He decided that we should take that money to "open the pool". Um, hello? The pool? I don't even like the pool. Ugh. I understand the point behind that, but I had big plans for my $170. Like maybe a new iphone, haha! Wait, didn't I just say we have new priorities? I just love the iphone so muchhhhhh (make sure you read that with my whine attached, 'cause that's how I am saying it).

Ok, so I came to my senses. I did not get a new phone yet. I did agree that opening the pool would be the best way to spend the money. My kids would be so very excited. They all really enjoy having the pool. So, being the sacrificial (and frugal) mom that I am, I started researching chlorine and stuff to find the best price. After some looking, I found some good deals and I officially placed the order.

I would say about 5 minutes later, I happened to look out the window, and it was flippin' snowing. Snowing. In April. After I *just* bought all the stuff to open the stupid pool. UGH. And to think, I could have already been texting all my peeps on my new iphone. But nooooooo. I just bought chemicals for a pool that will never open. I am bitter, very bitter.
